Newcastle United 1 - 0 Southampton: Joelinton's goal secured a gritty opening-day win for 10-man Newcastle in a fiery clash against newly promoted Southampton at St James' Park.

Arsenal 2 - 0 Wolves

The Gunners began their Premier League campaign with a straightforward win against Wolves at the Emirates Stadium.

Kai Havertz opened the scoring for the Gunners in the first half, heading in from Bukayo Saka’s cross from the right. After the break, Saka added a second with a powerful left-footed strike into the right corner, capitalising on a quickly taken free-kick that caught the visitors off guard.

Joshua Zirkzee quickly became an Old Trafford favourite by scoring an 87th-minute winner against Fulham. The former Bologna striker was brought on alongside Alejandro Garnacho after an hour, as United struggled to break down Marco Silva's side.

With time running out, the duo combined brilliantly, with the Argentine winger delivering a cross from the right that Zirkzee expertly guided into the bottom corner, dealing a crushing blow to Fulham.
