There has been over 700 episodes of The Simpsons and there is often some quite heated debate about the best episodes.
Across the United Kingdom especially, it's one of the most popular animated shows
Let's have a look at some of the best episodes and other iconic moments.
Homer At the Bat
An episode with one of the greatest songs from any Simpsons episode and probably the best sporting themed episode.
"Well, Mr. Burns had done it, The Power Plant had won it, With Roger Clemens clucking all the while, Mike Scioscia's tragic illness made us smile, While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the bar-room tile..."
You Only Move Twice
One of many episodes where a significant change to the family dynamic is introduced before everything returns to normal. Homer moves the family after he’s offered a new job at a company, run by the not-so-secret super-villain Hank Scorpio. Many people on Twitter and other social media outlets have argued that this is the best ever episode. It's a pity we've not heard much of Hank Scorpio since. It was reported that he was due to feature in The Simpsons Movie but the part was scrapped.
Homer's Barbershop Quartet
The best flashback episode in our opinion. Homer recounts the story about the time he was in a barbershop quartet. The episode makes several references to the Beatles. Their first album, Meet the Be Sharps, is a clear and obvious parody of the Meet the Beatles!
Marge vs. The Monorail
Is this the episode with the best song? Mr. Burns is fined $3 million and, in their wisdom, the people of Springfield decide spends the money on a monorail system. The episode features many incredible lines and moments. Is there a chance the track could bend?
The Italian Bob
A rare example of a "newer" episode listed in a Simpsons best of article. It's set amongst a number of stunning Italian backdrops in Pisa, Pompeii, Tuscany, Rome and Venice. It also features the return of Sideshow Bob.
